On Set Leadership

Filming With Purpose

As Senior Social Media Manager, I felt a responsibility to honor Dr. Devine’s firsthand experience and turn her testimony into a cinematic story that could truly move clinics and pet owners. Seeing her passion in person in Seattle, I immediately scoped the narrative potential and partnered with PR and Creative to craft a focused storyboard, incisive interview questions, a precise shot list, and a tight run-of-show so every moment with Dr. Devine would underscore why Trupanion certification matters.

I championed the project end-to-end—securing a small, nimble production crew, negotiating contracts, scouting and locking locations, and managing equipment—so the shoot could remain intimate, authentic, and editorially strong. My goal was simple: amplify Dr. Devine’s voice with cinematic craft so her story would not only inform but inspire action across veterinary clinics and pet families.

As a pet-first organization, we intentionally centered our shoot around the authentic connections that drive Trupanion’s mission. We captured extended B-roll of Dr. Devine with Moonbeam, the Golden Retriever, filming intimate moments that reveal her bedside manner, empathy, and the real-world source of her purpose. Those sequences ground the piece emotionally and serve as elegant visual bridges between segments, giving viewers a genuine window into the people behind the brand.

Knowing our community values transparency, I prioritized a robust behind-the-scenes package—candids, run-and-gun moments, and lighthearted bloopers—to extend the story beyond the polished edit. These assets not only deepen audience trust but also create high-performing, repurposable content across channels, reinforcing Trupanion’s authenticity while delivering compelling, shareable touchpoints.

Dr. Devine reframed pet insurance as a human story—one that enables veterinary teams to design better treatment plans, relieves staff from fraught financial conversations, and gives pet parents the certainty their companions will receive uncompromised care. Hearing her speak as both a Trupanion member and a clinician transformed policy into lived experience and created a narrative thread rich with real-world stakes and emotional truth.

As the production lead, I zeroed in on those authentic human elements—micro expressions, quiet bedside moments, and the cadence of her voice—to build a storytelling arc that resonates on social channels. Capturing her warmth, vulnerability, wit, and professional conviction gave us the emotional core for the edit and produced content that feels intimate, credible, and irresistibly shareable.

My production journey started simply — an iPhone and a shot list — and grew into a disciplined love for crafting stories that land. Mentors taught me the mechanics — set building, run-of-show precision, and talent direction — but what I bring uniquely is an instinct for spotting and filming moments that deliver an emotional punch. Those instincts drive every creative choice I make and shape the work that truly connects with audiences.

I thrive leading on set, translating strategy into cinematic moments that perform across platforms. I love the choreography of production: shaping the narrative arc, guiding talent to their most authentic moments, and orchestrating teams so that every frame supports a larger story. Whether it’s a micro social spot or a long-form piece, I’m driven by turning empathy and craft into memorable storytelling that moves people.
